DNA is a FirstClass BBS located in Madison, Wisconsin. Its administrators are David Zavadsky, Andy Stolper, and Karl Hassrick.
DNA is dedicated to providing a fun and interesting online environment for Macintosh users. With conferences ranging from the Mac-specific to the general, DNA has something for everyone—and if DNA doesn’t have it, you and other users may request and vote on a new conference!
All first-time callers to DNA will be allowed 60 minutes of access to download the most current settings file, if necessary. After that, users will be limited to 20 minutes per day, which includes full access to the most popular conference areas on DNA. For a small fee (outlined on the BBS), the user can purchase a one-year subscription, which will grant extended daily access time and access to file, periodical, and special sections.
Before calling DNA for the first time with this settings file, be sure that the telephone number listed in the setup is correct. For people living in the Madison local calling area, delete the “1-608-” from the beginning of the numbers. Others within the 608 area code should delete the “608”. Otherwise, you’re ready to go!
When you make your first call, you will be presented with an autoregistration screen. You may use anything you choose as your user ID, and anything as your password; however, we do ask that you use your real name where you are asked for it. After you have logged in, please send a brief message to “Administrator” and let us know where you heard about DNA and any corrections you may have to your name or address. After that, feel free to explore! The conference areas are yours to use, and if you see anything that can stand improvement, send mail to “Administrator” and one of us will address your concerns in a courteous, professional manner.
